Our Services
Manassas Therapy Dogs shares comfort, smiles and joy through visitation with people of all ages in various community sites and programs. We have participated in community parades, de-stress days at the community college and secondary schools, support programs at police departments, visitation at local hospitals, assisted living sites and rehabilitation programs. We also participate in the PAWS for Reading program, which is an interactive reading program aimed at encouraging students to read aloud in a safe and positive environment without criticism, through our schools and libraries.
We are always open to new opportunities to bring comfort and smiles to our community.

COVID
During the COVID pandemic Manassas Therapy Dogs have adapted their service since many facilities have stopped allowing visitors or have gone to virtual platforms. Some of the ways MTD teams have continued to serve have been reading to elementary school children via teleconference platforms, taking walks in the community (sometimes with costumes), and delivering treats to first responders. One of the latest ways our MTD teams have been busy is to have outside visits and "parades" in neighborhoods and outside at facilities which had been visited in the past. The MTD "cheer truck" has been busy with holiday visits and decorations. Our wonderful teams continue to use their creativity to "spread smiles and joy" during these extraordinary times.
